Hey yall!! So I am going to be honest with you guys! I was not very happy waking up today haha. I got to this computer feeling super poopy and mad at the world!! It seems like all the work that I have been doing has been for nothing and tha nothing seems to go right.... Then I got to my emails and my whole day was made!! No my whole YEAR WAS MADE!! I got two emails from two different old investigators from my other areas saying that they were baptized!!!! One of them is the mom of the last kid that I baptized and it was such a hard feeling leaving that area because she wasnt baptized and I was there from the start! I made the contact with her the goals and everything and it just seemed like nothing was going right!! So now I am super happy!! I am also super sorry because I know my English and my writting is getting really bad!! Please forgive me haha! YOU CAN NEVER THINK THAT THE WORK YOU ARE DOING IS IN VAIN. Holy flip I am flying right now hahaha!!
Hey yall! This week was pretty good! I had two sweet experiences with some animals! We were teaching a lady in her front yard and she was like hey look!! and we turned around and there were two tuacans eating oranges in her tree and then they flew right over our head! It was pretty awesome to see them in the wild!
We also had a poop flinging monkey scream at us hahahaha!!!! I didnt even know there were monkeys here in the south but when we passed by another elder that lives in the south said that it was only a monkey that makes that sound haha. He got super annoyed and said just keep walking or it will start throwing poo hahahahaha!!!!
Elder Noschang hit his one year mark so we got some pizza!! The pizza had rib meat, chicken heart, mignon, and a bunch of other good stuff!! The pizza here is freaking awesome!
We had a day go by that we knocked doors all day and nobody let us in haha. I even tried to give a pass along card to this guy and he gave it back and said he was catholic... then I said thats awesome I am mormon can I give you a card that talks about Jesus?.. He said no because my Jesus isnt catholic hahahaha I love this mission hahaha!!
Hello my fellow beings! So this week was an alright week. We had some ups and downs but in all it was good! We got to go on a long bus ride to get to Curitiba for our conference. We spent two days in the conference and ten came back.
In our area we have thre baptism dates marked for the next two weeks. we are just helping people fight the smoking and it should be alright.
Sorry I am writting my email with a projector because the computer broke and it is hurting my eyes so I am not going to write a lot hahaha. I cant even see what I am writing.
So we had transfers this week and my companion went to the other side of the town and I got my new comp from Equador Elder Ibarro!
It is super crazy to think that I will make one year and three months in the mission! 15 months pass super fast! I was looking at my panners and I already have a bunch and each one is six weeks hahaha!
So this week was pretty funny because my comp was complaing about the sun and how hot it was and we were litterally melting! He was walking with his head down and he stepped in dog poo and got super mad and was trying to whipe off his shoe while he was walking in the grass and because his head was down he ran into a metal pole....(I only laughed a little). We then got super annoyed because all of our appointments fell through and nobody was letting us in so we said a prayer! After our prayer I went to knock a door and there was this guy that stuck his head out the door then looked at us through the window then went into another room and came back to the door..(by that time I thought it was going to be that elect investigator)... NOPE! He shut the door and then shut the window and then shut the curtains and waited for us to leave hahahahahahahahaha!! As we started walking away he opened everything back up and we turned around and he shut it all again hahahaha!!! I LOVE THE MISSION LIFE!!!!!!
Well I dont have much new stuff going on.... It has been super hot and I am black... thats pretty cool...
Hello my weird little friends!! So this week was pretty good! We had 6 hours of serivce this week! Three hours on monday we moved this couple into their new house and I am pretty sure that they are the owners of the heaviest things on earth! They freaking had a table thats like ten feet long made of solid granit!!! It was a brute!! We also helped our ward mission leader do some construction clean up at his house it was also super exhausting because we had to carry a wheel barrel (dont know how to spell that....) up 3 flights of stairs and it was full of mud.... and we had to do that for another three hours hahaha!
On the spirtual side we finally finally finally found somebody that was happy to recieve us!! Our elect person last week gave us the book of mormon back and said that he didnt want it anymore hahah but this week we founds a couple that are looking for a religion and they got super interested in the first lesson. We taught about the book of mormon and before we gave it to them the husband asked if he could buy it from us because he was super excited to read it! We were like well we can make you a deal and just give it to you haha (even though everyone is just dying to read it)
Conference was pretty great! I had to watch it all in Portuguese and the translators have no emotion so that kind of sucked but it was all real good!
Well thats all from me today!!
The book is blue the sky is too and really is true!!!
(sorry no picks this week the internet is really really bad) #jungleprobs
Had a flipping awesome week! So They have a tradition here that I will definatly be taking back to the states with me! Soon Fridaybefore Easter everyone here doesnt eat meat and its like a day of silence! Thenon Saturdayis a day even more cool! Everyone makes a life size Judas (the apostle that betrayed Christ) and they hang it up somewhere and eveyone that passes has to beat Judas hahahaa! And when the night comes everyone burns and beats Judas because he betrayed Christ hahhaa! So to capitalize on this opportunity we made a Judas and beat the crap out of him hahaha I was pretty excited for that!
We also had an activity in the branch and we threw some pie the face it was pretty great! I wrote the questions and still lost.....
Also for all of you that would like to watch the best music video of Brazil go to youtube and watch this video... (to tranquilo to favoravel) It is literally my joy in this world. It just goes to show how much better music and famous people are in Brazil than the USA hahahaa!
Also finished up my hometeaching because I am cool like that and go hometeaching in my mission haha I love working in these branches! Nobody went to church this week so it was the four elders that blessed and passes the sacrament... and taught all the classes.... and lead the sacrament meeting hahaha!
Love yall and I hope you can all live the vida loca!!!
This week was super exhausting which means that it was a good week! We walked a whole bunch and got to help a memeber move!
So this area is the area that I have most walked and I think my feet are paying for it haha! We are teaching a bunch of people and knocking a whole lot of doors because there wasnt really any investigators when I got here haha! We are praying and fasting to find some people that can be leaders in the future for the branch here because everyone that can lead the branch is going to move a way and so it will probably be missionaries that will lead the branch. So we are looking for some good people to LEAD!!
dont have a whole lot to say about this week but I will send yall some pics!!
Hello people of the americas. So this Was a pretty great week! We had absolutly no time to work haha! So Monday was P day and worked monday night.
Tuesday We were running and calling people trying to get a wedding planned for our investigators haha! That last document that they need will come tomorrow! We literally were running until5 pmtrying to get everything ready.
Wednesday. We had a normal day knocking doors and only one person let us in....
Thursday We had a normal day knocking doors....
Friday We went to Curitiba and spent the night because we had a mission easter conference. It was pretty awesome.
Saturday. Woke up at4:50to go to the bus station and when we got there my companion had lost his identity so we couldnt enter the bus... We spent 6 hours running to computer labs, Police departments, and every other place in Brazil trying to get him new documents. It was prettty sucky not going to lie! We FINALLY made it back to our area and the day was pretty much over..
Sunday went to church, then lunch, then we went home because there was in international manifestation/ riots in brazil so we couldnt leave our house until like 7 o clock.
That was my week and really not that cool haha. I will send a pic of my view from my study window and the St Patricks package I got from mommy!! Also got a sweet easter package! I love packages! and letters... One day I will get a letter that isnt from my mom or sister.... One day.... I have faith in you guys.... ;)
Hello my fellow space rangers!! So this week was prett freaking fantastic! I am super excited because I didnt get called to be the first counselor in the branch haha! I got called to be a counselor in the young mens!! Woohoo! Yesterday in the youngmens we had one kid show up haha and it was super awkward because he was smarter than me and I felt like an idiot because he is only 13!
Wednesday I threw down my first District meeting haha it was pretty great! I like our district a ton! We only have good Elders!!
I got to make a visit to my old area Canoinhas! It was awesome to see all the old investigators and members! I had to go there to do my training to be a DL.
So the bank in this area got robbed two days ago hahah and once again I was on the same road and was almost a witness hahaha! I think I have the gift to be close to bank robberies! This will be the third on the mission haha! I LOVE BRAZIL!!
Our city is a army city and right now they are training all the new soldiers and it is super funny because they make them do the most retarded stuff hahaha They always run by us on the road and they have to sing about how pretty they are hahaha! I just start singing with them!
I have the only area in the mission tha passes two states! So I took a pretty steller pic of me on the state line! I also took some pics of our house! In this email I wills end a pic of our wood burning stove! Its the bees knees!
Our ward mission leader makes boots and whips and all sorts of stuff for the Backwooded people in my city haha He also makes belt buckls and I baught 4 of them haha they are pretty awesome!
Helo my felow americans! How is it there in the land of the red white and blue?! I had an extremely busy week!
I Got a call from my old area Sao Marcos and they told me that an imvestigator that I contacted asked for me to baptize him! I was super excited haha! The baptism went really well. the water was super cold and the poor kid was shaking haha! It just braught back some good memories of Bear lake!
So we got transfers yesterday morning and I got transfered to Mafra. Its super close to my second area Canoinhas. I dont know how but im a district leader now hahaha and I believe I will also be the first counseler of the Branch.... Im not stressed at all hahaha! I am actually super excited to have some new challenges and new opportunities to learn and grow! Hopefully I dont drive this district into a ditch haha wish me luck peeps!
Hey yall so this week was pretty great! As you all know I got pretty much two p days last week so that was awesome!
I would just like to tell yall about my little friend I found in hour house. So we caught this fly.. and it was still alive so we were like hey lets throw it on a spider web and see what happens... So as we threw the fly on the spider web this huge beast of a brown spider (Spider that kills people) came out and ate the fly.. so.... Lets do it again! So we have been feeding a brown spider for about 4 days now with flys and she is getting bigger! (Her name is charlot) haha! I am so awesome! I will send some pics of her!
Last night I had an experience super weird. I really strengthened my testimony about priesthood and how it is the power of God. I also learned that the devil and his angels really do know who we represent and they have fear of missionaries. It was a pretty strange night last night haha!
Esta semana foi muito bom! tivemos bastante coisas para fazer e eu quase fui para um ultra estado!!
So this week was pretty great! We has a lot to do and I almost got to go on an airplane ride to São Paulo!
Last thursday night I had to go into Curitiba to stay the night there so that we could go to the federal police station the next day at 5 am to renew my visa documents. They didnt accept my papers and said that I could only do it on the 23rd. So we had to go all the way back to our area. The mission called us again and told us that we had to go back sunday night to go in yesterday morning, and if they dont accept the papers I would of had to go to São Paulo haha but thankfully it all went well!
We had three investigators in church which was a lot of work! We had to knock on their doors a lot until they woke up! (rule # 1 never ever ever invite elder Wright to wake you up in the morning to go to church. Because elder Wright is mean!) (I dont know who you are, or what you want, but I will find you, And I will make you go to church!!!) Taken Reference!!
(I hope sombody understood that)
Well I am super duper gooper pooper down here! found a rattle snake and so now I am super paranoid. but hey its one of the least deadly things down here so thats comforting! Right now we are all just trying to stay away from the mosquitos that are killing everyone hahaha its such a joy in Brazil!!
How is life for yall?! This week was pretty extra ordinary. Its carnaval down here and for those of you that dont know what that it is it just means that everyone spends a week up to a month breaking every commandment and then they go to the Catholic church after and ask for forgiveness!! Its freaking crazy. People have no standards during this holiday hahaha I would advise all of you to never visit brazil during Carnaval.
I am personally getting really really fat. Like Gurl I am huge!
Hey yall! So this week was pretty awesome. I had some awesome dreams not gonna lie! I had a dream that I was companions with Michael Jordon and he gave me a bunch of air jordon clothes! Also had a dream that I was duck hunting and it blew my mind because I was amazing!!
So not too much exciting happened this week. We just ate some good brazilian BBQ and it was wonderful. Watched a car accident as we were leaving and I am pretty sure that somebody died... So thats too bad.
We marked three baptismal dates this week and they are all super strong so that is awesome! I am super tired always but that is a good thing because we are working our butts off. Its been like 90 or 95 degrees down here with 100% humidity.... I am so sweaty haha. I feel like I am in a steam room all the time.
We have been playing a lot of rock soccer! You gotta kick a rock between your companions legs... I win every day and the other elders are not liking that because I am american hahah USA USA USA!!
Taught a guy who is antiamercan and he did not like that I was american haha He kept asking me why my country kills everyone who is a threat.... I was pretty chill until he told me it was stupid that we killed Sadam Husan because he was inocent.... Then I lost it. I love my country. I love my freedom. And I MISS MISS MISS My guns.
Hey yall! So this week we knocked a lot of doors. A lot of doors..... A lot of doors. We had a serivce project and we had to do demolition on the foundation of a brick house. I cut my fingers very many times and I was covered in blood and it looked like I had been a victim of a drive by shooting haha. Turned out it was like super deep paper cuts on the fingers haha.
We had this really weird guy invite us in and say that he had been waiting for the mormons to come to his door. He told us that he was excited because he knew that the Catholics and the Mormons are basically the same hahaha. When we got into his house his wife was sitting on the coach. she had one of the most nasty looking legs I have seen in my life!! EWWWWWW!! She was bit by a brown spider three weeks ago and her leg is really swollen and black, and had a huge open hole that was basically eating itself... She said she went to the doctors but they just told her to deal with it.. So we offered a blessing and she started crying after the blessing and said she couldnt feel the pain anymore. We went back the next day and her leg was normal with a little scar where the hole was.. Priesthood is real peeps.
We are teaching this one family that is really awesome! The kids are already baptized and the mom is going to get married in a couple weeks and get baptized too! Her husband likes the missionaries a lot but he doesnt really pay attention to the lessons. So I started joking with him and we started making challenges of magic tricks.... I kicked his but and now he is listening more to the lessons haha! He demonstarted how to stack 16 nails on top of the other and then told me to do it.. I did it and showed him up.. Then I challenged him to do the Randy Wright Knife trick in the hand.. the one were you start with the knife under your thumbs and then twist your hands and it comes out on the bottom.... Yup He still hasnt gotten it and it has been 4 days hahahaha!! (Soooo thanks dad for the wonderful teachings you taught me as a kid)
Well that was my week... Oh and in our house we have an Elder called Elder Salazar and He is from another land that speaks spanish and I give him a lot of crap and call him greeny and I make him count how many more months he has in the mission every 10 minutes hahahahaa I am such a jerk!
So it finally happened! I got transfered! Now I am in Bordo do Camp São Jose dos Pinhais. I am really excited to change areas! I was so tired of knocking the same doors in my last area. I already miss my companion and the ward. I made some good friends the six months that I was there.
My new companion is Elder C. Santos. He has 1 year and 9 months in the mission. I have yet to have a companion younger than me haha! I dont think he likes that I am the senior comp but oh well! He is super trunky and I have only two hours with him and all he talks about is home!! Gonna have to change that!!!
So My last week in São Marcos was pretty freaking sucky. Our investigator Patricia smoked... Our other investigator was really bad on crack and his wife went and found him... She is pregnant and round house kicked his car and then took a giant rock and smashed the windows haha.. Dont worry I will send some picks of it hahaha!
Our family we reactivated got drunk and ended up leaving their dads house to live in the road with their three year old son. They told us that they lied when they said they stopped smoking. It was pretty sad to see because we spent two months ever day in their house and it did nothing. They made it a whole day in the sun and then they realized that they had no money and no food and no work so they went back to live with their dad. Then yesterday they made me chicken feet with chicken neck and chicken liver. It was just a chicken fest.
So this was a nice week here in the jungle! Last P day I got to go to Subway and power my way threw a footlong and I won a poster of chooobacka!!! It was one of the best days of my life.
We wont have any baptizms this transer which is pretty sad. our investigators wont stop smoking, using crack, or get married. We did find a couple that was really good though and they had already studied about the church and were excited to recieve us in their home. The should be baptized here in a couple weeks but I wil probably be transfered this next week. I will miss this area a lot! I already have 6 months here though. Thats a lot of time!
My companion found a baby bird and tried to rescue it. He braught inside and it got away and pooped on his pillow. That was pretty awesome.
I also took a sweet pick of the jungle like area around our area! I will send it in a another email.
Well that is Elder Wright! Fat and happy. and "still" drug free!!
So This was a pretty rockin week for us! We "tried" to sleep on the night of new years but somebody forgot to tell us that Brazil is CRAZY! I felt like I was in WWIII!! They dont even use fireworks down here its just hey lets make some bombs and throw throw them in the missionaries yard!! It was pretty awesome!
So we reactivated another family this week! wooohooo! My mission is to baptize just reactivations! woohoo I am like the pimp daddy of pimp daddy with my less active memebers!! (I just offer them money to go to church)
We got to go to a memebers house in the area of the other elders and had some awesome food! I am still full!
And the BEST news of all.. I... Elder Wright.... am going to eat.... SUBWAY today!!!!! Say whhhaaaattttt! Thats right I am takin the bus and we are going to subway!! TURN DOWN FOR WHAT!!!
Good buy wish me luck that they have a meatball sub!!!
Hello all This was a wonderful week full of some good adventures! Got to talk with my wonderfully weird family!
I have to tell yall about one of the best things that has happened in my mission. So our investigator had an interview to be baptized and we had a member go out with us to do the interview. unfortunatly she didnt pass the interview but she is going good! I was talking with the member though who has been inactive for a while and he told me some pretty sad stuff. He was baptized three years ago. He is married and has a little boy. They are living with his wifes dad who was also inactive and another son who we are preparing to send on a mission. So there are 5 people in their house and only one person is working. He told me that they didnt eat the day before because they just didnt have anything. this was on the 22nd of december. I told the Elder I was with about what he said and we both felt sick eating lunch like pigs thinking about that family. So we put some money together... (Pa and Grandmas christmas money) and we went to the grocery store and spent the money on food, toys, soap, cleaning supplies, tooth brushes and just about everything you could think of! It was the happiest I have ever been while shopping! We got to their house with like 60 sacks of stuff and their faces were in shock. They started crying and asking who gave it to them we just told them it was papai noel #Santa! They still dont know who It was. (Sneaky little Zachy hehe) Now the three of them that were smoking have stopped smoking and they are practicing to share their testimony for this week! I am super happy with this Christmas. It was truly wonderful.
Love yall send ya some pics of me and the comp after the party!!
So this week was pretty awesome as all the others! We had a pretty awesome feast with the mission! I took some awesome pics with my mission friends and the mission President!
Il start yall off with a sad story today. So I recieved some of the saddest news of my mission. My companion was the first to tell me.... I... Elder Zachary Wright... have...Flees...... And not just Flees. They are flees that are attacking my butt. I scartch and I scratch and I scratch and they just KEEP COMING BACK!!! So when yall see that one comercial with the dog scratching the flees... pitty me. I have to get deefleed today. Merry Freaking Christmas!
I am pretty pumped for Christmas this year! I am going to get so much fatter! Everyone here is giving us so much candy haha! Its pretty awesome!
We got to reactivate a family this week and they made number 9 of the people I have reactivated in this area! We dont hardly baptize here but the reactivation is going super great! haha! We will baptize as soon as these freaks get married!! woohoo!
Oh and if yall remember in Lion King when poomba and Teemone are eating bugs, and there is that huge rhino beetle... Yup totally saw one this week and I didnt have my camera!! They are huge and my comp said it was small!!
Well Merry Christmas people and remember that Christmas is about Presents and gifts and greed!!!
