Black Guys Don't Cry

Hey peeps!!

This was a pretty great week here in Brazil!! My new comp is pretty great! He is funny and accepts racist coments! We are going to do well together! I call him elder slave. He speaks English really well and always says "Hey wait up for the black guy"! Or "Sorry im black" Hahah Im such a bad companion!

We are teaching this less active memeber Maycon! He was hooked on crack, and just about every other type of drug. He was living with a girl, and got her pregnant but she lost the baby. That was him 2 months ago. Now he is clean from all of his addictions, going to church, reading the scriptures, and praying. He had a meeting with the bishop this week and is starting his mission papers... Yup Im happy.

I am loving the work down here and how all the good Catholic people are making it to church for Christmas haha.

knocked a door two days ago and this lady yelled that there is nobody home... I was like who the crap is talking?? and she said nobody... yup smart people here!!

Also we found a whole flock of one of the most dangerous spiders in our house. Thankfully my loving mother put some OFF bug repelant in my bag. The OFF repelant does absolutely nothing to them... but the Off repelant with a lighter... does wonders!!! Yup almost lit our house on fire but it was so awesome!

Annnnd I will send some racist pics of my comp!!

Love yall

Good Stories

Hello All! I am super short on time but I have some pretty good stories this week!

So we have an investigator named Patricia and she has been coming to church and we have been teaching her for about two weeks now. This last week we were at her house but we normally teach her in front of her house because her husband is never home. This last time her husband was home but he was super drunk. He has a drinking problem really bad and he is only 27. She let us into the house because he was sleeping. While we were teaching her he came stumbling out and started yelling Those Mormons!! He then told us how much he loved and hated mormons. He then stumbled into the bathroom and after three minutes he started calling for help! He opened the door and came out wearing some super tight tighty whitys... He then asked me if I wanted to fight because he didnt like that I didnt look at him hahaha! He was like.. You wanna fight with me?! I said no.. He said well then lets go!! He started to come at me and his wife told him that I was american.. He started crying and telling me how much he loved Americans! He just kept saying I love you man over and over and over and over in English! I was like I love ya too bro! He then got down on his knees.... RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. He started saying that I was a beutiful American... Then he grabbed my leg and put his head on my lap and started crying!!! Yup that freaking just happened!! Then to make things so much more fantastic He started rubbing my leg.... Then he sat down on the ground and started crying again. After about 10 minutes he got possessed by a spirit! Then the spirit left and he remembered that I was an American and we took a pic togother. WE are now best buds I guess..

Other story. Walking down the street and what I THOUGHT was flipping cat walking in the grass which turned out to be a 2 1/2 ft Lizard ran at me!! I kept my cool though and threw my companion at that Godzilla! Freak people I was expecting little lizards!

Other story. My beloved companion whome I loved so dearly was transfered..... AMEN.

Thats me folks. dont drink, and dont take Godzilla for grantid... (dont remember how to spell grantid)

Elder Wright

Ps. If you send me a package please please please dont put the price above 50 dollars. If it is more I have to take a 4 hour bus ride to get it, pay for it, and then come back another 4 hours. Happened today and It took all my P day haha. But I really do love packaged and letters so dont be afraid to send them!! ( alll you people that arent my mom and Cassie)

Hey yall! Just thought I would let ya know that I am still alive and kicking! We had exchanges this week and I got to stay will my good buddy Elder Xavier! We had a pretty awesome pizza and Guarana!

We have transfers in 6 days... not that I am counting down or anything! I think I am going to stay in the area. If I stay I will have 6 months in this area!! Thats a lot of time!

I have gotten to the point that I know everyone I see in the road and I am starting to make contacts 2 or 3 times with the same people.. Its pretty fantastic!

Everyone here thinks I am from Germany. For example I made a contact with this couple and the (very smart) man said: Hey you are speaking English thats awesome!

Me: Im speaking English?

His wife: No He is speaking German not English.

Me: You guys are understanding what I am saying stupids. DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH OR GERMAN?!! I THINK NOT!!!

His wife: I think hes mad....

Yup thats my everyday life people. Thank goodness people accept the gospel here because if not it would be some real long days!

Love you all dont do drugs.
The name is Elder.

Hello friends and family!

This was a pretty good week here in Brazil! We knocked a lot a lot a lot of doors! I say knock but all you do is clap haha!

So we were knocking doors as we normally do and we got to this one house and started talking to this lady. She told us that she had been praying to know what path was right for her and If God could just do something to show her that he was caring for her. She said when she said amen we knocked her door.... she cried and wants to be baptized... Its real hard to preach the gospel down here in brazil ;)

So thats my week! I feel like I always have so much happen durring the week and when I get to the computer I forget everything!!!

Love me!!

Hello Americanos!

So this week was super super super full of stress! Did you know that preparing for a baptism is a nightmare?! We had two people ready to be baptized. A mom and her son. They passed the interview and all was going super duper and then she called us and asked us THE QUESTION! She said that she had been dating a member (inactive memeber) and two days before he moved into her house and was sleeping on her sons bunk bed!! Freak lady ya cant be baptized with that dude in your house!! We had to call him to repentance and kick him out of her house and then call the mission presidente to talk with her to make sure all was well. Then the were BAPTIZED!! We DUNKED Them!! woohooo that was my wonderful week!! dont do drugs and stuff.

Hello freaks! So this was a pretty good week! Kinda poopy too hahaha! So the lady that I talked about last week didnt make it to church this week so she cant be baptized with her family this week and they wont be baptized without her! Super bummy but gotta do what ya gotta do.

We will have two baptisms this saturday though and I am super pumped because one of the asked me to baptize them and thats always an awesome feeling!

Not too much has been going on though. I got to talk with a lady that is 104 years old and she was pretty much the most amazing person I have ever met in my life! She is so healthy and funny! She said that one day we will learn how to work like her haha!

Here are some pics of a guy in the ward playing the accordian for us.... I want one... And here is a pic of my face when I get mommys christmas packages early! woot woot

Goodbye losers

Hello my loves! So This week I had by far one of the coolest experiences of my life. We were just getting to church on Sunday and our investigator had called us and told us that his wife had cut her wrists and was asking for us. We ran (literally ran) to the church and got two members to drive us to their house. When we entered there was a lot of blood and she was crying super hard saying that she didnt want to deal with this life anymore. (this is the family that we have had marked to be baptized the last few weeks but she didnt want them to be baptized) Of all the people she could have called she called us because we have already given her two blessings that have cured her. We have her a blessing and she immediately stopped crying, and was smiling and laughing! She said that she wanted to be baptized with her family and she told her husband to throw all of their booz away and she pulled out her nose peircings and demanded that we go to their house every day and catch her up on all the lessons.

This was one of the most spiritual experiences I have had in my life. I know that priesthood power is real. I know that. I know that this is the true and living church of Jesus Christ. I know that. I know that the authority and power to act in the name of Christ is here on earth. I know that.

Thanks for all the love my friends and family.

Here are some pics of a slug that I found in my shoe. (yes I had already stuck my foot in the shoe) Other picture of my planner and my desk. (just thinkin about Halloween and skiing.... not homesick for those things)

Burgers and Rain

Heyyyllooo friends!

This week rained and rained and rained and rained a little bit more... It also rained.

Last P day I made some pretty awesome burgers and fries and just thought I would send a pic to my fellow Americans who understand a beautiful burger!

So we had three interviews for baptism this last week and one of them didnt pass and the other two passed but cancelled the baptism 5 hours before! Their family couldnt come to the baptism so they marked for the next week! I was super upset because we have transfers today, but with my beautiful luck I got to stay in the area!!.... With my companion....  I know that by far this has been the hardest relationship in my mission but hey I get six more weeks to learn to love him haha! He is a great missionary and I have a lot I can learn from him!

We got to go to Curitiba this week because my companion had to do a medical check up or something and My goodness Maria!!! Curitiba is so beautiful! I had never seen the city itself! I felt like I was in the states again! I was also super closterphobic (spelt that wrong) because the buildings are huge and there is no end to them!

Well thats all folks!

Hey Halloween Lovers

So this was a pretty awesome week! We had a baptism interview with our investigator but he wasnt ready yet so we marked his baptism for next week! We are also teaching the same family as always and they will be baptized this week! The mom is a poopy head though and doesnt want anything to do with us. But the dad and the son are super excited about it! The son is 13 his name is Nilton. He speaks perfect English haha he didnt believe in God before and now he has a stronger testemony than most of the members here. Im super excited to see him get into the water!

Well hot mommas Halloween package wich was pretty awesome! Full of candy and some vampire teeth!! woot woot!! too bad Im in a country that doesnt even know the day halloween exists....

Ive also been feeling really dumb lately and I looked in the mirror and im turning blond! the world is ending.

Nos tivemos um batismo!!!

Este semana foi bem bacana! I got to baptize my little friend Sandy this week! It was pretty awesome! We reactivated her family and now they are preparing to be sealed in the temple!

We also got to go to the zoo last P day and it was the same as the last time but hey its the zoo!! I was like a little kid haha!

Me and my companion had our ups and a lot of downs this week but we got it all worked out and now we are some pretty good friends. I know that if we didnt have the spirit with us we would have killed eachother. I was just about ready to do what bain did to batman and break his back on my knee hahaha jk jk (just a little kidding). So if you were wondering if the mission was so lovey dovey its a lie! But you really do learn how to enjoy the good moments and leave the bad moments behind.

I love you all and I love this work till next week.

Hello Friends!

Hello My friends!

So this was a pretty great week! We worked a ton! Conference! Got in a small fight with my comp!! Life of the mission haha!

So me and my comp got in a little tussle at conference and I was super poopy headed and I was sitting on the bus to go home mad at the whole world and God sent me a little cheer up. I had a fat little faced brazilian baby (about14 months old) start trying to play peek a boo with me but I didnt give him the time of day. He didnt give up though! He started to get mad at me and smaked the chair in front of me. So as I started to play peek a boo he started laughing so hard! we literally played for a good 20 minutes and when I looked back on the bus there were 8 other people playing peek a boo with us hahaha! It is such a stupid story but It was what I needed to cheer up!

I really liked the talk by Elder Holland about moms! The closest thing to the love of Christ is the love of a mother. Everyone go hug your momma. I also liked that he said we had a heavenly mother!! You never know how much you love your momma until you spend two years away from her! LOVE YOU MOM!! MISS YOU LIKE CRAZY!

Thats me freaks.

Pooper Scoopers (his words)

Hello pooper scoopers! So This week was pretty great we got a lot of work done! We have 6 baptism dates that are solid for this transfer!

We are going to baptize a whole family in two weeks!! Im so excited! They have a 13 year old boy who speaks perfect english and he didnt believe in God. He is most excited out of all of them to be baptized! His mom told us the only reason why he talked with us is because I was American haha!! woot woot go USA!

We havent really had too much going on this week though. We knocked a lot of doors yesterday and we had 4 people ask my companion if the language was hard for him to learn hahaha! They thought he was an american and that I was a brazilian! My comp was super mad haha but I was on cloud nine all day yesterday and havent let him forget that his Portuguese is worse than mine hahaha!

Peace and blessings freaks

Dudes and Dudets

Hello dudes and dudets

So I know you were all worried about me and stuff but dont worry I am alive! Yall want to hear something sad? So I get one less email every week haha! I started the mission with 44 emails every week in the MTC... Today I am pushin 14 haha! Now I know who really remembers me haha!

This week was pretty awesome! we prayed for people ready to be baptized and we recieved! Every lesson we taught we either had people freak out at us or spit or try to fight about it.... All the hatred and all the sharp words people said just made it that much easier to see who really was ready.

We are teaching this family who was a members contact. They have a son who is 13, speaks perfect English, and he doesnt believe in god. He accepted our baptismal challenge and his mom started crying because he wanted to be baptized. The whole family just sat and cried together for 10 minutes. It was incredible. Their friends that are memebers told us that they are putting pictures of the Book of Mormon on Facebook and telling everyone how excited they are to be baptized as a family.

There is nothing I love more than bringing families into the gospel. It is definately not something I want to leave behind after two years.

Well thats me folks!!

p.s. had a bunch more shootings but I havent died yet sooo thats good! Im not allowed to say stuff bad because my mommy will over react hehe.

Baptism and Marriage

Hey yall so this week was super awesome!! We had our investigators get married and then baptized the next day! It was an awesome experience! His name is Andre and he was crying as he walked into the water and at the same time he was giggling like a little kid haha! It was so cool! The wedding had an awesome BBQ also! I took a pic of the BBQ pit so yall could see what its like here. Everyone has the same BBQ pit in their house! I will definately buy one! We also found a family that is really excited about the church and they want to be baptized soooooo wooohoooo!!!!

We had transfers today and my new companion is the district leader and he seams like a pretty cool cat! I have already been his comp when we do exchanges.

Thats me! Love and kisses!!

Shootings in the Hood

So this week was super crazy. I think probably one of the most crazy weeks of my life haha!

To start the week off I got bit by this little dog right on the ankle and if the owner wasnt right there I would have punted that little sucker!!!

The day after that we were teaching this guy at his gate and durring the prayer his dog peed on my leg.... Im sure yall can imagine how I felt about that.

The day after that we were teasing this really mean dog on the other side of the gate and he tried to bite us. It was funny until the darn thing opened the gate and all hell broke lose!! Who teaches their dog to open the gate????!!!! My umberella turned into a light saber in a blink of an eye! A few swings at the dog and he backed off, but man my heart was in my hands!!

About a week ago I bought a cake and ate a huge part of it. The cake was really weird and I felt super weird after eating it. I read the label and the cake was made with pure booze and I was pretty much waisted. Yup I broke the word of wisdom on the mission. who woulda thought.. (sorry mom). Im now taking the lessons from the missionaries about the word of wisdom.

And to end the week saturday night we were teaching our investigator and his brother came running in the house yelling get down! A few road down was a huge gun fight between the police and some gangsters!! Holy cow the only moment I am without a gun I witness a gunfight!!!!! I dont know how many people died but I know the shooting lasted for a good 15 minutes. It was a testimony builder though because we had an appointment on the same road but me and my companion forgot about it and so we werent in the middle of it all!

We also have had a pack of 6 dogs walk us home every night this week! The pack is led by a huge black lab and they litterally dont let anyone pass close to use!! I think the dogs are trying to make it up to me for peeing on my leg and bitting me haha!!

Well thats my cray cray week...

See ya

Love ya

Bengay Bible Bash

Hey peeps!!

So this week was pretty great for the work!! We had 20 new investigators and 11 baptism dates! woohoo!! hopefully we can get some of those 11 in the water!

Really quick I just want to tell you my Bengay story... So my mom sent me some bengay a while ago and I was putting it on my foot and my companion asked me what it was so I handed him the bottle and told him to smell it.. He squeeeeeezed the bottle and it shot up his nose and in his eye!! He got bengayed!!! He said his eye and his nose burned for hours haha!!

I had a crazy catholic guy try arguing with me that its crazy we dont believe in saints... He asked me if we dont believe in saints then what do we believe in???... Dude read your ten comandments and come back to me haha!! DONT WORSHIP IDOLS!

(I really dont bible bash but sometimes... sometimes ya just gotta let the people know they are smokin somethin crazy)

Well this is me this week! love yall and heres a pic of my comp after he was bengayed!!

Hello Earthlings

Bom dia macacos! Translation (good morning monkeys)

So this week was just another week. We had the president of the mission talk to us about faith and it was really good. He said there are three types of faith. the first level of faith is just to believe. It is the most basic form. The second level or step is action. those who act to strengthen their faith will gain miracles depending on the works they do. The third level is when we do all the things possible to strengthen our faith and God will give us power to do whater we want according to our faith.

Through faith anything is possible.

I gave a talk yesterday in church and I only had 6 minutes to prepare so I just talked about faith for 15 minutes haha. I dont really have a fear to talk in front of people anymore and its really nice!

I hope all is well with yall and more importantly I hope yall still love your lovable Zachy poo here in Brasil! (if I had a cell phone right now I would send a winky face and kissy face to yall just fyi)

Peace fatys

Elder Wright
Ps. they are playing Hips dont lie by my love shakeeeerrrrraaaa woot woot. I love this computer lab.

Oi Fooooobeckas

So this week was pretty interesting!

To start off I got hit by dog that was hit by a car.... Yeah. We were walking and this dog was standing in the road and a car drilled the dog and the dog flew and hit me haha. Its not really that funny but I just never thought that this would be a story that I would have in my life haha!

Another great story that I never thought I would have in my life.. I had an ostriche ( I dont know how to spell ostrich... the big bird from australia) Anywhoo the big bird tried to bite me!! We were just walking by this little wall thing and what do ya know a giant bird stood up on the otherside that was taller than me and tried to bite me on the shoulder!! People I cant make this stuff up. The mission is the most crazy place in the world.

I think we cursed a lady but I wont get into that story because its kinda haunting me.

Soooo that was my week... Oh and my church is way cooler than your church!

Hello fellow friends!

So this was a pretty good week of work!! I was pretty tired last P day and didnt have any time to rest. When we finally got to the house it was time to leave and work. We worked our buns off!! We found 25 new investigators this week which was really great!

We are teaching this one lady who was really familiar to me. I have already met her in my life I swear!! She is grandmother willow off of the movie pocahontas haha!!!! She has the same face and wrincles and attitude hahaha!

This ladies husband has altimers.... I know Ispelt that wrong... But anywhoo he doesnt remember anything that anybody says, but he remembers the missionaries and every word in our lessons! So thats pretty cool to see!

Sorry forgot my camera so I wont send any pics this week! I have a pretty good pic of my companion eating macaroni and cheese for the first time though haha!! Sister brown gave me two boxes of it and it has been the best mac and cheese of my life!! These flipping brazilians dont have the good food here!

That was my week peeps!!

Elder Wright

Hey there peeps!

Ive been transferred!! I spent the last 4 and a half months in the city of Canoinhas and now I just got transfered. I literally just spent 6 hours on buses to get to my new area haha!

Im not going to lie saying goodbye to the families in Canoinhas was really hard. I am so attached to all of them, but I am super excited to meet some new faces! My new companions name is Elder Silva and he is from Peru. I think by the time my mission is over I will have had a companion from every country here in South America!

I took pictures with the two families that had the biggest impact on me. The one picture where we are standing is the family of Vilmar and Mara. They both started crying when they were telling me how thankful they were that I knocked their door, and that I will always be apart of their family.... yup I cried a little.

The sky is blue, church is true, and i love U!

Elder Wright

Hello Freaks!

So this week was a bit more interesting! Monday we knocked doors and talked with a bunch more Catholic people that politely told us they hate us haha. Well some people just flat out told us that we were of the devil haha! The last door we knocked was the crazy guy on the block if ya know what I mean. He is the guy that has 6 Volkswagen cars in his front lawn.... So we clapped at his door and he came out and told us to come in before we said anything! Went in the house and there was so much booz that it blew my mind!!! I told my companion lets teach the word of wisdom haha!! We started talking with him and he has drinkin beer once in his life and hated it haha!! He said that beer advertisement is his job but he hates the stuff hahah!!! This is why we dont judge people! He has a date marked to be baptized here in a couple weeks woohoo!

Some of the young men here have been bringing their friend Marcos to all the activites and so we got his address and taught him the first lesson. He is 15 and was really interested. He even went to church yesterday! we went to teach him last night and his dad came out and threatened us to never come back to his house again... Marcos came out and told us that he had an answer to his prayer that it was true and when he talked to his dad about it his dad beat him. He had a black eye and his nose was broken. Im still trying to figure out the plan God had for this one.

To end on a happier note we had a church activity that was pretty awesome! You had to answer a question agains another person and whoever got it wrong got a pie in the face!! I lost twice and swore that I would never return to the church again haha!

This was my week peeps

Love Elder Wright!! ps send me pics of yall!!
